At a side event to the B-WaterSmart project meeting, the Young Water Professionals of the different CIRSEAU projects (B-WaterSmart, REWAISE, ULTIMATE, WATER-MINING, and WIDER-UPTAKE) joint forces for the first time. The meeting offered a great opportunity to connect, discuss and exchange experiences with other young researchers, working on similar research topics. The meeting consisted of two parts: an informal ‘social session’ for the Young Water Professionals only to get together in a pleasant atmosphere, followed by a ‘hot seat’ session. For the ‘hot seat’ session, two senior water experts from B-WaterSmart, Rita Ugarelli (SINTEF) and Andrea Rubini (Water Europe) were invited as guests, and provided answers to the questions the young researchers asked on career planning, international experiences, successful project management, EU proposal writing, and many other topics. At the end of this successful event, all participants agreed that this was a great start for this CIRSEAU Young Water Professionals group and that further joint events should follow.
