Final B-WaterSmart project meeting in Venice
After four years of successful collaboration, the B-WaterSmart project partners held their final meeting in Venice (Italy) in July. In three public sessions, a water-smart future was discussed.
Session 1 “Ensuring water for all relevant uses” focused on the main challenges of the pilot implementation in the project, the acceptance of water reuse solutions and measures to overcome potential issues, the cost coverage for reuse solutions in an agricultural and industrial context, the role of digital tools in B-WaterSmart, plans for large-scale implementation, and ensuring the availability of the digital tools after the end of the project.
Session 2 “Boosting value creation around water” dealt with the systemic solutions of the project, discussed B-WaterSmart as a driver for new policies, focused on the testing of the B-WaterSmart Dashboard including its target audience and adaptation to other contexts, and talked about the main challenges for solutions implementation and commercialization, and lessons learned concerning co-production and co-creation.
“Engaging citizens and actors across all sectors in continuous learning and innovation” (Session 3) highlighted the positive feedback from Living Lab owners on the InAll process, showcased the success of the CIRSEAU stakeholder engagement group, and determined the WOLL application as a useful step to ensure the sustainability of the Living Labs.
On the second day, the project partners highlighted the success stories and impacts of their work-packages and received the final feedback from the Project Advisory Board. There also was plenty of time to network and connect during the coffee breaks, the field trip, or the conference dinner. Thank you to project partner Veritas for hosting the meeting in Venice!
