Stormwater reuse for agriculture (D2.7)

Living lab Flanders is confronted with challenges such as floods, insufficient groundwater replenishment, water shortages in agriculture, and lack of availability of conventional resources, all originating in climate change and extreme water stress caused by a high population density and related pavement rates. At the demonstration site in Mechelen, these challenges are integrated through smart control of a flood prevention buffer basin, allowing for both groundwater replenishment and reduction of irrigation needs.
