In January, project partner OOWV hosted a digital public consultation meeting in the Interreg Europe project AQUARES, where B-WaterSmart was presented. The topic of the event was the opportunities and challenges of water reuse. Around 30 interested people mainly from universities and water management attended. The event was moderated by Mr. Prof. Jörg Drewes from the Technical University of Munich. In his presentation, he also gave an insight into current developments in Europe and Germany on water reuse. After an initial round of questions and discussion, three successful examples of resource-saving water recycling were presented: Representing EVIDES, Sven Lübbecke presented two good examples from the Netherlands. Afterward, Emmanuel van Houtte from IWVA presented examples of use in Belgium. The national New Water concept of Malta was presented by the Aquares partner EWA by Mr. Michael Schembri.
